MFA Authentication

In 'Getting started with the AWS platform' recipe of chapter 1,could not find the option to navigate to MFA authentication

Search for the service ‘IAM’

Search for the service ‘IAM’ in main page

Select ‘’IAM’  and you will be directed to IAM Dashaboard

  1. Click 'Activate MFA on your root account' > Click on 'Manage MFA' button. You will be shown a warning message popup. Close it.
  2. You will be taken to Page titled 'Your Security Credentials'
  3. Expand 'Multi-factor authentication(MFA)' section > click on 'Activate MFA' button
  4. in the 'Manage MFA device' window popup that was displayed, option 'Virtual MFA device' is selected by default> Click 'Continue'
    1. This display 'Set up virtual MFA device' popup
    2. install MFA compatible app like Google authenticator in mobile
    3. Scan the barcode shown in screen using Google Authenticator and enter two consecutive codes for confirmation and click 'Assign MFA'
    4. Close the successfull message
